As you maybe aware RenewSolar is a lot more than a retailer and installer. We build and design software and hardware for solar installations and use, but we also test.
unlike many companies who are “making a buck” RenewSolar is a OCD on solar and each and every part, we are now in our 21st year making us one of the most mature companies in the UK when it comes to solar and skill sets which exceeds anyone on the market today.
As part of installing and product testing we have our own installed solar, which for the most part is non ideal as we have to work with problems rather than putting in the “standard install”. this gives us the skills and information to make accurate calculations, installation problems and mitigations, as well as a whole host of installation topologies.

Micro solar became a thing over time and the small form inverters became one and the same when it came to solar installations – Small solar. These small solar installation were perfect for many homes who wanted to off set and could install solar panels not only on roofs, but sheds outbuildings and even pergolas – RenewSolar coined the term “solarpergola” and you will find a long list of posts and images of these happy home solar pergolas on the website.

When we moved to micro ( tiny solar) which are grid tied, We wanted to see what they were like in terms of real saving and practical use. this year to date are CARBON offset is 135kg and savings are £121.86 (based on the lower rate of power costs.) standardised that’s around £211.00
In the life time – excluding down time, the system delivered £791.10 in total savings and offsets approximately 1 tonne (976 kg – 1,081 kg) of CO₂ at the time of installation the cost was £375.00 for the kits. This means that in the installation period the system has paid for itself twice over.
RenewSolar has always shocked the market with ROI values far below the norms of the solar market, this is mainly due to the low cost nature where value meets quality and capitalism takes a back seat. With ROI being as low as 1 year and full installation (domestic) being around 4 years, the mainstream solar puts the ROI at ten or more years.
This makes RenewSolar one of the UKs top choices for investors.

RewnewSolar also moved into Battery systems for scalable home installations, with top tier battery cells that were well beyond social platform hypes and warned about dangerous false claims and information, RenewSolar Cut a path in the ESS market. Offering clients savings up to 70%. To-date there have been ZERO issues and Complaints.
RenewSolar Flexibility offers clients something a little different… maybe a big difference, in that not only does RenewSolar offer on and off grid but go far beyond the box. Full integration systems, custom hardware and software that’s designed and built in house.
RenewSolar comes from a multi national business who has won several international awards, and one key part has been the business modelling. RenewSolar’s carbon foot print is very low due to many of the services being in house and very cost effective. In 2000 the boss reinvented business and on-line commerce through to the late 2000’s and everyone in the world now uses system design and software developed by Rory in their everyday life.
Rory also works with government, making policy and procedures and as part of this new guidance and policy is made in the UK as well as legal changes.
” working in policy and procedure as well as law is frustrating, it can take years for things to catch up and become real, to me its common sense and winning awards for just normal stuff, just makes it a little weird” says Rory.
Why did you get into solar?
Since I was a child, I loved science and always wanted to know how things worked, I trained in business and Engineering and way back in the 80’s I had a keen interest in computers and programming, my friend and I wanted to swap software, so I rigged up phones so we could transmit the software to each other. But I got into solar because the world was getting more expensive and there was a injustice, people were getting scammed.
The name RenewSolar, is actually based on two things, Renewed interest in solar. Many will think the names based on Renewable energy and solar, but the core of the business was to redress the rip off rent a roof and common solar scams. Renewed faith in solar.
Are you a environmentalist?
No, it has nothing to do with “climate change”, it more about injustice and capitalism. I know how to make things and how much things cost, so I know how long it takes to make and what’s needed. For example a 6 kw solar inverter is around £1200, in reality they are around £130 + £15 + £35, this makes a AIO inverter with solar charge controller. That £185 with a profit and R&D costs does not make up the value of the inverters.
I don’t like waste, and Im more the save money to make money type. In our projects, you will see recycling to make a MPPT charge controller. the was due to the fact you could not get a high power charge controller for under £350
So this project was designed around cheap scrap that made solar power collection accessible to everyone around the world.
Okay this is justice and recycling, dealing with E waste is important.
Why the CO2 publishing?
The world works on the false narrative of CO2.
we saved around 1 ton of CO2 with our small solar. what does this mean?
1,015 kg (1.015 tonnes) of CO2 represents a significant environmental footprint. To put that figure into everyday, real-world context:
Transportation & Travel
- 3,700 Miles in a Petrol Car: Roughly driving from London to Istanbul and halfway back, or driving the full length of Great Britain (Land’s End to John o’ Groats) four times over.
- 1 Economy Flight from London to New York: Offsets approximately the individual carbon footprint of a passenger flying one-way long-haul across the Atlantic.
- 10,000 km by Passenger Train: Equivalent to taking roughly 60 return train journeys between London and Manchester.
Household & Everyday Items
4.5 Months of Average UK Home Electricity: Equal to nearly half a year’s worth of total electricity consumption for a typical UK household (~2,700 kWh/year).
20 kg of Beef Production: Equal to the cradle-to-gate emissions of producing roughly 20 kg of steak/beef (one of the most carbon-intensive agricultural products).
300,000 Smartphone Charges: Enough energy to charge a standard smartphone every single day for over 800 years.
48 Mature Trees: The amount of CO2 absorbed in a full year by a small grove of 48 mature trees.
Co2 is not the problem in the environment. its the other gasses and the actual reasons I have wrote a report about. But for the most part, its about saving money. making money seems to be immoral based on profiting from others, which is something I do not agree with and why RenewSolar is a charity and we donate to charities every year.
