One of the most common questions and requirements is fixing solar to a flat roof. The issue is:
” don’t want to screw through the roof to fix the array as it may leak”
Well professionals know how to install fixings without the roof leaking and its actually fairly simple. However for those who want to fit solar to a EDM or other type of flat roof which I shall refer to soft roofs because there are other methods of fixing to hard roofs.
There are a few options and we have variable “hardware” sizes due to the variable in requirements.

The 100 H frame, is suitable for heavy loading. with 30×30 large feet, that spread the load. this is ideal for big projects. but we also offer a 60 H frame, this would be suitable for home installs.
Load bearing capacity 300kg per Set. (sold as set)
You will require to order Spanning rails. (max length 6 meter) and you can add the trays to “light load” to ad weight.
take care that you will need to support the span.
Did you know the 100H can be used to directly mount single row of panels?
By attaching two angle brackets, and a bearer to the sides (up rights) then rails between the H frames bearers. This allows for a fast solution. when installing solar on the go.
For greater stability, use two sets of 50H frames, ensuring you link the two to space out your rails on larger panels. the tops sit at 72Cm the leg spacing is 50cm

When using the 50H to make the frame bearer, you would stand a leg in the center with a T joint. the swivel bearing allows you to position the feet over a joist and have some wiggle room. see the diagram doe an ideal how you do this. Not shown are the alignment rails between the H frames.

The mini rail and baskets provides a solid rubber feet to place on the roof distributing the loads. the baskets are for ballast to add extra weight as required. these are ideal for low laying panels.
( new regs, allow for 1000mm angles on flat roof arrays)

Another way for more lower laying panels is by using the rail and feet option.
If you need to have ballast trays, you would need to add a level up, or run a longer rail length and place the basket between. You can usually fit a leg through the basket if you wish to have shorter rails. Remember that when you want to angle a panel. The over hang will fall or raise you should allow for clearance.
