Much of the time we are doing installations we tend to look for options that work and look good. I idea came from outback an Australian designed off grid inverter system, who had a box matched to the inverter and combined with control and battery connections.
These days many people are on budgets and with this trend in DIY often results in bad connections and fire or greater shock risks. So by supplying parts with the safety kit installed, we can shape the installations to improve on looks and safety at the same time.
The image above, for this post is a din mounted set of breakers and controllers. Normally encased within an enclosure.
Items left to right…
AC control. Inverter to load.
this unit replaces the ‘generation meter’ and breaker. The unit limits voltage and current and shuts down the connection if there is an issue. The unit features tou, and kwh metering. This unit being suitable for 10kw inverters.
DC breaker. (Solar)
This PV breaker is a dual pole lockable PV array isolator, for solar panels with currents up to 16amps. Typically used in domestic installations with single strings, this prevents over current and shorts in modern solar panels while providing isolation within one unit
there are two of these units as most people have dual mppt inverter units. Thus fitting most needs and installation.
DC breaker (battery)
there are many battery breaker options on the market, often people buy into misleading information and tend to buy costly items, or they buy weak and problematic hardware. This 125amp breaker fits along side other connections keeping a neat appearance.
din bar.
in certain areas, such as RV installations there is little room for all individual items, space matters. In din only format, the unit takes up minimal space, for most other installations there is a windowed unit, so that power can be monitored on the display, or closed metal enclosure for dwelling installations.
