Here are RenewSolar we like to be very transparent with our cost which shows that we are not over charging for the services and you can carefully budget for your solar journey. Typically the two top costs of solar is the installation and the battery.
Solar panel installation can take a day, maybe more depending on the roof and its condition as we may need to effect repairs or supports before fitting solar panels. We cannot give you ball part figures for this potential cost.
A low price is £250 and a higher price of £750 will give you a ball part figure to work from for the installation of solar panels, but scaffolding can be as much as £1300 or as little as £65.
The reason for the variable is down to scaffolding costs. They vary as well the need of scaffolding.
The panel cost
A 3.4kwp solar panel installation (8 panels) will cost £809 (or there about), this includes the mounting system. go up to 5.1kwp (12 panel) and the cost is around £1,175.62
Total cost of solar panels and mounting would be around an average of £1,928
Other costs in the hardware needed is the inverter and battery, to have an “average” system this adds around £1905
Your install location and other factors may add to this average, therefore I would advise to budget an additional £350
This price is effective for exporting if you are not going down this route, then you costs will be lower. The benefit here of not going down the export route, is that the saving can allow for an extra battery.
Total cost
Around £3,800
Short list:
12 panel 5.1kwp
11.7kWh battery
3.6kw hybrid inverter.
installed.
Note:
Solar installations shown in this format is not as helpful as they would appear, when we consult with clients, the system spec is addressed to match their needs and location from a technical point of the installation and use of that system. As we live in the UK, there is a level of compromise as solar is weak over the winter months. You will have to grid charge to save money on your bill.
Off grid or attached hybrid systems, are lower cost in general.
You will find that you will get more for your money at RenewSolar, but there is a lot more to having solar than many people think. If you want a DIY kit, we also offer those; For example are 2kw Grid tied is currently £600. There are pros and cons to these types of systems and they are more an “off set”.
