Ordering When You’re Away

Planning a holiday or a work trip but still want to place an order with us? No problem! We’ve made it easy to order in advance and ensure your items arrive when you’re back and ready.


How to Place Your Order

It’s straightforward to order before you go:

  • Specify Your Delivery Date: In the ‘NOTES’ section of your order form, simply let us know your preferred delivery date.
  • Email Us: Please also send us an email to confirm your requested delivery date. This allows us to personally schedule your delivery to align with your return. Every order is handled with care and personal attention.

Delivery Timelines & Important Information

To help you plan, here are some typical timeframes and considerations:

  • General Dispatch & Arrival: Most orders are dispatched and arrive within 3 days of your payment being processed. Please note that the time it takes for your payment to clear can vary: this could be 24 hours, 2 days, or even 5 days, depending on your chosen payment method.
  • Disregard Third-Party Information: If you’ve clicked through from Google, please disregard any shipping times or tax information you might see there. Our direct information provided here is the most accurate.
  • Item-Specific Delays: While we strive for quick delivery, certain items, like batteries, can sometimes have longer lead times due to stock levels. We highly recommend ordering batteries in advance, as they can sometimes take a few weeks if they are out of stock. If they are in stock, typical delivery is around 4 days.

Why Create an Account?

We highly recommend setting up an account with us. It offers several benefits:

  • Order Tracking: Easily track the progress of your order from processing to dispatch.
  • Direct Communication: We can leave you notes directly on your order, keeping you fully updated on its status.
  • Tracking Information: Receive important tracking details for your shipment.

If you choose to check out as a guest, please be aware that you won’t be able to track your order, and we won’t be able to provide direct updates or tracking information.


Rules of Thumb for Advanced Ordering

  • Order When Ready: If your funds allow, we recommend placing your order now and simply informing us of your desired delivery date.
  • Delivery Scheduling: We generally recommend a delivery date of at least 5 days from when you place your order.
  • Multi-Item Orders: For orders with multiple items, you have flexibility. You can choose to have items delivered as and when they become available, or consolidate the entire order for a single delivery. If you opt for a single delivery, we will ship all items together based on the longest lead time. For specific projects, we can arrange shipments like solar mountings, cables, and inverters first, followed by batteries.
  • Your Order, Your Way: Once your order is paid for, the items are reserved for you. This means we can arrange shipping in a way that best suits you, even if some items need to be obtained from stock. The money you’ve paid remains yours until your order is fully completed and delivered.
  • Refunds: Any automatic refunds will be processed and returned to you 14 days after your order is delivered. The timing depends on your payment method. For direct transfer payments, we may contact you to process any automatic refunds you may be due.

Important Note for Group Buys

The above guidelines do not apply to group buys. If you are part of a group buy, the order process is continuous and affects all participants. Missing a delivery timeframe for a group buy may incur a storage fee, and you might need to collect your order from us or pay for additional shipping. In some instances, if it’s a minor delay and others in the group can accommodate, you might be lucky.


Backordered Batteries & Shipping Details

Due to their popularity, our batteries are often in high demand, and we don’t keep large quantities in stock due to space and maintenance requirements. This means you could potentially wait up to 40 days for a battery to arrive. We typically provide shipping tracking so you can monitor your battery’s journey across the world.

We work with various battery suppliers, so some batteries may be available with shorter lead times (3-5 days), while others might take 10 days before they are even shipped from the factory (allowing for container loading). After setting sail, they traverse the globe. Upon arrival in the UK, there can be delays with docking and customs, which can add up to 4 days before the battery reaches the local shipping company, who then deliver within a day or so.

Please also be aware that batteries are heavy. Deliveries are kerbside, and you will need to arrange assistance to move them. They come on custom pallets (wood boxes with cardboard boxes inside) that you will need to disassemble in order to move the battery packs.
