Buying solar has been affordable in recent times due to the china incentives ran by China’s government, this has since stopped. The war, and general government taxation glut has pushed up prices world wide meaning that for most the cost of solar has now doubled.
The world of solar has a wide range of materials and processes that all can add up, The governments taxes and duties form a lot of the bill and they are targeting most and causing the rise, known as the cost of living. This is usually under the claim of Environment, or local business jobs.
Unfortunately much of the world you know is based on a finance system, this means that price or rather cost means nothing as you can finance it, that “loan” creates money to which the government has a cut as will the finance institutes.
What we are seeing is the costs in the market near double in recent weeks, what would cost between £650 -£800 now costs nearly £1600. A lot of this comes from logistics, Im sure that you have heard of import duty and VAT, but there are also a wide range of taxes, fees and duties. take for example a shipment comes with a oil tax based on the fuel it has used, when we have some shipments this can amount to £400+ on a product that taxed and VAT added, along with duty.
It is true that living in the UK adds costs, typically all products; including non solar, has around 50% added to the cost. This due to a range of costs/taxes. Other countries may not follow the “British agenda” and do not suffer these higher prices.

How can RenewSolar help?
Buying solar from the UK can be difficult, we are an island and so things have to be shipped in, but in Europe they can be shipped by land, this does take some time as the trains ship cargo around the world. it adds a few more days, even weeks to orders but you will save by planning ahead.
RenewSolar is a UK and Euro company, it does not see the same “robbery” when operating from Europe. *Cough Brexit*
We still have our direct service, meaning that hardware can be shipped direct. The means that there is not two stages of shipping, which in the real world is normally 3 or 4. With fuel prices up, this cost grows fast, along with the wage, taxes all added to this simple task of getting you the product.
Many people demand it now.
When the sun shows its face, many people across the UK want solar and to upgrade there solar installations. This causes a spike in orders, a hike in demand as stock levels drop, and prices go up. The key ordering time is around October, and the key installation time is March. Most people order in March and April, which causes the growth in price. It also causes delays for installations.
Solar is about planning, rushing in for solar is not a good idea. There is a lot of false and misleading information and so called experts, which I see in groups as “trusted” and this is also online and in videos. Think of lemmings all following each other, and all agreeing its a good idea. It is a lot of “folk lore” in most cases.
Solar can work, it can also be a waste of money. Buying the wrong things, having the wrong installation and hunting best prices over best hardware or the completely other way around. Spending more for the same product makes little sense. I have questions all the time, of our brands over others. and I have to shut my mouth. They have more failures and complaints, they have low quality control… There is no difference, ours are just better. We don’t get complaints or issues. we sometimes have return customers, but we get them a great solution, so they don’t need to come back to us…
Plan your solar, save money. don’t follow sheep or rather the lemmings that’s the bottom line here.
