Costs for solar tend to be the make or break for most people, and here we have a deal changer budget battery.
The key principle from RenewSolar is to source, test and offer a range of products that fit the needs of the users and the budgets. This tends to be a rather long process to balance costs and quality, but sometimes there is a good compromise. This budget battery hits the mark with a super low cost and low compromise.
If you have been following along, we have been looking into the most costly part of any solar system, which is the battery storage. We have been trying to drill down prices and really make solar more affordable to more people and keep within our return on investment ideals we have set; which is 4 years and 1 year.
Here we have a 11.77kWh battery, and you do not usually see this kWh but you can fit a wider range of cells within the battery boxes, so rather than the “standard” 100, 200, 280 and 315ah cells, you can get the others in-between and you can have combos, like a 2P cell arrangement.
The battery shown above has 230ah cells and the pack comes in around 85kg.
These are a bit older and less “flashy” and they are no longer “the latest standard” – for those with eyes, you should have noticed they do not have a fuse/breaker? and this has been a standard for a while now. So if your ordering one or four of these batteries, make sure that you order the bus bar and breakers that you need.
The supplier does make compliant batteries too.. and the price there is also good, but here we are basically providing “Budget” and the price is £750.00 ( with small bulk discounts).
A lot of people are looking at our 15kWh battery When we offered this for just £1400
in comparison, for the same money you could buy 23.5kWh, the fact that the 15kwh has moved up in price, really shows you how much movement there is in the battery market but also the value is some of the other products available.
“We are being delayed in bringing down prices as we have already formed a European company, when we are able, it means that the transactions between suppliers and us is more affordable and we can then reduce the costs for UK batteries“. says Rory Witham CTC at RenewSolar.

You often get what you pay for😉
that can be true, but its not always the case.
Many people are locked into a “market value”, this often is a false price that is high.
The missed point, is that the “economic value” is never taken into account.
lets take for example you buy a UK 3 bedroom house for £250,000, you could buy a 3 bedroom house in Italy for £20,000 they are both 3 bedroom houses but the price is different. You could argue that the English house is better, but how is it better?
Now don’t get me wrong I am not saying these batteries are the latest’s and greatest, they are not: but they are of good usable standard.
We have or “normal” and premium batteries as well. and these will be as good if not better than you can buy anywhere. They still cost less than others are selling them for, it does help that we are not a business for profit so we would be less.
Well your the Jinks!! 🙂
They just got all sold out. and we can get no more! but I will keep looking!
