Deye micro inverters are well known around the world, you may know them as Sunsynk in the European market however we are looking at the micro inverter set up as it is not simple and why we stopped selling them while this issue was resolved.
Firstly if you purchased a kit from us you will have the connector, this is NOT included in the standard boxed inverter. You will also be confused by the manuals view of how to wire the inverters AC connection.
the image shows the Plug End not the wire end.

How they are wirelessly connected.
While you can log into both the relay and the inverter and they have wireless connection information, they are NOT both connected to your wifi.
The relay ( RE_) connects to the inverter, and inverter (AP_) connects to your wifi.
(app refers to this as the “logger”).
The relay should be factory set to the inverter.
Using your phone, connect wirelessly to the inverters wifi it will start AP..
open your internet browser and go to http://10.10.100.254/
Log in using the password ( its in the manual – on the box and device)
Enter your Homes Wifi and and password and connect. ( MUST be 2.5ghz network)
your phone will revert back to your wifi connection.
(TIP the first request is for your HOME wifi the second is the inverter. – ensure you scan the WIFI SN not inverter)
You can log into your wifi router and look at the connected devices – this will give you the IP address of the inverter, if your router does not support this search for “network IP scanner” and this maybe on a computer or phone and give you a list of devices that are connected, try to connect to the ones you think would be the inverter. =- The IP will change unless you lock it in the router -=
You should see the router and web interface.
NEXT Step
Now that you have the inverter connected, it will want to do some updates, this take a while! (25 minutes in some cases!!) So you want to power up in the morning as there maybe a few updates. you will want to reboot the system once it has settled. You should see a power W reading other information maybe blank.
On the bottom of the menus you should see server connected!. this is the connection with deye for the management and updates as well as data monitor.
The updates are in 5 minute intervals.
Next Step.
You can down load the app “Deye cloud” this used to be solarman but the experience/ use and setup with this app is terrible. The deye cloud app is much faster and easy to use.
in the App ADD a plant. enter the serial number of the inverter.
You will need to be near the inverter as it will want to connect via wifi to finish the set up.
TIPS
You will want to delete the wifi information for the inverter from your phone so that your phone does not want to connect automatically to the inverter.
Your phone may want to change the wifi connection to the default (home) all the time while you’re trying to set it up. you do have to go back and fourth and if you get an issue setting up the inverter and software this can be why.
Up dates can be slow and the system sometimes reboots or needs to be rebooted, this means the DC (solar) would need to go off for a full power down the system runs from the panels not the AC.
Softstart. the inverter will soft start, which means that it will slowly bring up the power regardless how much solar power there is, it can take around 15 minutes to show full power based on the 5 minute update delay.
On the relay, there are two leds, the left is the connection to the inverter, the right is the AC, red indicates a problem. it can be on when its all starting up, wait for 5 minutes.
On the inverter there is a LED this has a range of flashes you will get a flashing red for a while before flashing blue.
– Read the manual… its in there.
UK installation.
installing solar within the UK falls under the regulations and laws. the systems should be installed into a protection device that is compliant – see BS7671 and check out the forum on this website for more information.
The 500G ( which is 600w) is on the ENA register.
Our unit is the slightly more powerful unit – Deye has confirmed it is the SAME approved unit, in the app you are required to turn power down to 600w which is in the settings.
The approved inverters are .6kw, 1kw, 1.4, 1.5 and 2kw micro inverters.
